VDMD advises and supports fashion and textile designers in all professional matters in a both committed and competent manner. The association attaches special importance to offering the individual designer safety in his/her professional routine by providing constantly updated information on questions of law, tax, fees and contracts.

Legal consultation

Members of VDMD and VDID may consult a lawyer free of charge in all matters of contracts, licensing and copyright.

If a second, more intensive consultation is necessary after the first free meeting, or if consultation involves a legal letter, this will, of course, be subject to charges. Please make sure beforehand if and when a client relationship results from the consultation after the first meeting.

Consultation for business start-ups

We will be happy to advise you in planning and establishing your free-lance activity or the start of your own business.
The association has published a brochure on how to arrange fees and contracts in the field of fashion and textile design. It can be ordered from the head office and will cost Euro 15 plus p&p and VAT for non-members.

It includes, amongst many other things, calculation examples and sample contracts.
