The Association of German Fashion and Textile Designers (VDMD) is the strongest agency regarding to the professional status of Fashion and Textile Designers in Germany.

Design is more and more considered a substantial factor for the economic success of a product. The numerous activities of the association serve the better anchorage of design achievement in the consciousness of the companies outward and the network of competent consultation as well as profound information inward.

An important goal of the VDMD is to create more acknowledgement among industry and trade, the media, politics and the public for the professional status and the creative potential of its members as well as their professionalism and experience in order to strengthen the industrial creative competence of the whole textile industry.

We offer our members, freelance designers and employed designers, as well as the new generation of designers help and security concerning all job-specific problems like fees, legal matters, contracts and tax matters with a great range of services.
The non-competitive exchange of ideas within our members is also important to us.

The Association of German Fashion and Textile Designers understands itself as intermediary between the industry and the designers. It promotes interdisciplinary contacts and cooperations with ministries, trade and industry, culture and politics as well as with other fields of design.
